Aloe Veda Luxury Chocolate Vanilla Shower Gel Review

Hey ya people! This is a quickie...err...ya ...as in a quick review post ;) for the Aloe Veda Luxury Shower Gel in Chocolate Vanilla. I was pretty impressed with the Aloe Veda Luxury Shower Gel in Cedarwood, hence ordered this one too.

PRICE:  Rs.180

QUANTITY: 300 ml

INGREDIENTS:

WHAT IT CLAIMS:  Luxuriate in the richly formulated soap-free Chocolate Vanilla Luxury Shower Gel with Vitamin E for a fun and magical experience. Nurturing and skin-conditioning with the rich scent of Chocolate and Vanilla makes you feel alive and 100% delicious! Aloe Vera and Glycerine heal, soothe and hydrate your skin to retain moisture after bath.

MY EXPERIENCE: Aloe Veda Luxury Chocolate Vanilla Shower Gel comes in a similar flip top cap dispenser packaging. The texture is very runny, quite in contrast with the Cedarwood one, hence it is getting finished up quickly. As the name suggests, it has a chocolaty smell, much like that of "Eclairs" toffee, when you chew it on and the liquid chocolate fills your mouth. As one gets used to the smell, it starts smelling like bournvita chocolate milkshake :P #warning its still not edible. ;) It stays for a while on skin post bath.

Lathers very well even without a loofah. Doesn't dry out skin, but then neither it is moisturising, and I do need to follow up with a body lotion. On other points, it pretty much works the same as the Cedarwood one, so you can read my full review here to know my overall experience with the Aloe Veda Luxury Shower Gel.

VERDICT: For the price (available on discounts, on online sites) and quantity and ofcourse the quality, I love it totally (placed an order for another variant already ;) ) and would recommend the Aloe Veda Luxury Shower Gel to you all. Do let me know if you have tried it. :)

Iraya Fruit And Nut Scrub Review

Hey ya ladies! :D I am back, with the review of Iraya Fruit & Nut Scrub, which I have got long long back but posting about it so late *talk about procrastination* :P. Read on to know how it worked for me.

PRICE: Rs.345

QUANTITY: 50g

INGREDIENTS:

WHAT IT CLAIMS:
With fresh extracts and pulp of apple, quince, apricot, this gentle face scrub effectively cleanses, removes dead cells, improves skin texture and tones the skin. Regular use helps maintain  smooth, soft skin and a glowing luminous complexion.

MY EXPERIENCE: Iraya Fruit & Nut Scrub comes in a glass tub packaging, with a screw lid, that doesn't always close properly. It has got a subtle fruity smell. Coming to the texture of the scrub, the scrub particles are finely milled and suspended on a gel like base. It isn't scratchy/harsh on skin but effectively scrubs away the dead cells and impurities, leaving skin soft and smooth. It makes my skin feel a tad bit stretchy (I have dry skin), so I follow up with a moisturiser.

I didn't find much cons with this, as it pretty much does what it claims. Only the price is a bit pinching, but then most of the natural/handmade products are priced high.

WHAT I LIKED:
  • Scrubs skin effectively leaving it soft and smooth to touch.
  • The scrub particles aren't too harsh and doesn't scratch skin.
  • A little amount is required and the gel base spreads easily.
  • Subtle fruity fragrance.
  • Iraya doesn't test on animals and is made from mostly natural ingredients.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
  • Expensive for a scrub.
  • Packaging isn't user friendly.
  • Available online and select spas.

VERDICT: I like how it rejuvenates my skin, though I am yet to see any long term effect. If you are looking for a natural scrub that works and doesn't harm your skin, you can try the Iraya Fruit & Nut Scrub.

India's leading women's English magazine Femina is on the brink of a new revolution in publishing. In an absolute first for the magazine, Femina invites its readers from across the country to contribute with features and articles for the April issue. The new issue aptly called, ‘Made By You’, is a 100 percent crowd sourced issue that aims to mobilise readers from across the length and breadth of the nation. By creating this platform that enables Indian women to be a larger part of their favorite magazine .

Femina’s ‘Made By You’ issue will unlock the power of social media to reach over 5 million women, encouraging them to channel their writing skills. Femina has partnered with FoxyMoron to amplify the “call-to-action” and has introduced multiple engagement platforms for its readers. And it is only appropriate that it is Femina that is bringing it out as there is no other English women’s magazine with the stature and readership that Femina has.”

Tanya Chaitanya, Editor, Femina, says "Femina Made by You is exactly what it promises to be. An issue made by the real women who have always been our core focus. A Mumbai reader's take on relationships, a Delhi girl's hunt for the latest It bag, a Kolkata woman's expertise in the kitchen, a Chennai career girl's tips on being a 9-to-5 ninja - it's all trending here. Femina, the magazine for you, now made by you."

Says Soela Joshi, Brand Publisher, Femina, “Crowd-sourcing is one of the latest tools in the marketing arsenal. For Femina it is becoming an integral part of the marketing mix. Femina’s crowd sourced issue aims to leverage the participative and collective power of the brand, build greater affinity, relevance & keep up with how today’s consumers interact.”

Harshil Karia, Online Strategist at FoxyMoron, says, “Going through over 500 entries daily to zero-in on relevant and interesting content for the magazine is both fun and over-whelming. Femina’s assets on Internet and Mobile really enable us to reach out to millions of potential writers from around the country and the world.”

Femina has always been a brand known to take risks and experiment with bold engagement mechanisms. With this new venture, the magazine reaches out to many more women in the country, empowering them to voice their thoughts, ideas and opinions.

TRESemmé Climate Control Shampoo Review

Hey ya ladies! Lazing around on a Sunday holds a new meaning for me now :P Anywho, let's get on with today's review of TRESemmé Climate Control Shampoo. I got this to see how it fare on my frizz prone hair. Did it work? Read on to know.

PRICE:  Rs.128

QUANTITY: 225 ml

INGREDIENTS:

WHAT IT CLAIMS:

  • Formula, with Climate Control Complex, Keratin and Olive Oil, hydrate and strengthen hair.
  • Helps prevent frizz all day long by creating a barrier between your hair and the weather.
  • Preps hair for deep conditioning to smooth and soften hair.
  • Gentle enough to use every day, so you can have 365 amazing hair days a year!

MY EXPERIENCE: For some reason (I don't know what!) this TRESemmé range seems to be not working for me. Though the Hairfall control one fared moderately, this one failed to work as per my expectations. I started with the TRESemmé Climate Control Shampoo right after the Hairfall control one got over. One problem with my hair that never seems to go away, is the frizz. So I expected this range to work (would review the conditioner soon) on this target problem as per the claims. But, I didn't see much impressive results.

TRESemmé Climate Control Shampoo comes in the similar black, press to open flip top cap bottle. The consistency is moderately thick and lathers pretty well. Subtle fruity smell but nothing salon like. Cleanses hair properly but not the squeaky sound making one as the Hairfall control one does. :P I also feel the combo of this shampoo and conditioner weighs my hair down, however that also makes my hair look a bit straighter. I am seeing my hair is again becoming quite rough day by day, grrr! Okay it seems I have nothing much good to say about it, so to summarise,

WHAT I LIKED:
  • Lathers well and cleanses hair properly.
  • Simple, travel friendly packaging.
  • Affordable and available in various sizes.
  • Got the conditioner free.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
  • Doesn't work as per the claims for my frizz prone hair.
  • My hair looks dry and rough than before and frizzy like always.

VERDICT: Though this has got good reviews from many, it failed to work for me. Have you tried it?

Aloe Veda Luxury Shower Gel in Cedarwood Review

Hola ladies! Hope you are having a great Sunday. Mine just got better (new job...the reason why I went missing for a few days, and first weekend...yayiee :D ...and will be less active for coming weeks too :( so apologise in advance :P..Haha! :D )

Anyhow, coming to today's review, hear me out on what I have to say about the Aloe Veda Cedarwood Luxury Shower Gel, that I have been using for last few weeks.

PRICE:  Rs.180

QUANTITY: 300 ml

INGREDIENTS:

WHAT IT CLAIMS:
Energise your day with the Aloe Veda Cedarwood Luxury Shower Gel. This natural shower gel can make your skin squeaky clean whilst leaving behind an exceptional aroma.

The natural Cedarwood shower gel from Aloe Veda is a formula made from ingredients like Glycerin, Aloe Vera Gel, Vitamin E, Cedarwood Essential Oil, Rosemary Essential Oil and Sandalwood Oil which combine to revitalize your skin from deep within. The Aloe Vera gel found in this shower gel restores the skin’s lost moisture by essentially hydrating all the layers. In addition, Aloe Vera extracts can also remove dryness and blemishes from the skin, thereby giving you a clear complexion. In addition, the cleansing shower gel removes impurities and pollutants to reveal bright skin.  The Cedarwood Essential Oil present in this shower gel possesses a unique aroma that neutralises body odour. This luxury shower gel also contains Rosemary Oil which boosts blood circulation, thereby making your skin healthier.

The Aloe Veda shower gel is infused with Sandalwood Oil which is a great antiseptic agent that can soothe inflammations, burns, and wounds whilst leaving your skin with a refreshed coolness. You can attain visibly lighter skin by the presence of sandalwood, since it is a natural skin lightener. Your body will have a fresh woody fragrance throughout the day from the Cedarwood, Rosewood and Sandalwood existent in this nourishing shower gel. You can use the Aloe Veda shower gel every day since it is free of soap and does not harm your skin.

MY EXPERIENCE: Phew, quite a lot on the claim part. But does it fare equally well in real? Aloe Veda Cedarwood Luxury Shower Gel comes in a simple flip top cap packaging. The texture is very thick gel like, which kind of slips from your palm if you are not careful, leading to wastage. But, other than that I liked everything else about it. 4-5 blobs of the gel is enough and lathers pretty well. It has got a strong sandalwood smell and it reminds me of those Mysore sandalwood soaps which I used to use centuries back :P. On the flip side, if you are not fond of the smell, it might bother you as it is quite strong and persists on skin for a while.

The claims are a bit sky high, as it doesn't heal or soothe skin as such, but doesn't irritate or dry out skin either, though one can't skip a moisturiser totally, esp. if you have dry skin like mine. Cleanses skin without leaving any slippery feeling. The price is economical as the quantity would last really long, and also you can get it with some discounts from most online shopping sites.

WHAT I LIKED:
  • Soap free (TBS you have got a competition here :P) but lathers very well.
  • Only a little amount is required, hence one bottle would last long.
  • Strong sandalwood smell that persists for a while post bath.
  • Simple, effective flip top cap packaging.
  • Price is economical.
  • Comes in many other variants.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
  • The texture is quite thick and slips easily leading to wastage if one is not careful.
  • The claims are a bit tall IMO, and it supports the effects of individual ingredients, rather than that of a mere shower gel. :P

VERDICT: I quite liked it and already ordered another variant. Need I say more? :D Let me know if you have tried the Aloe Veda Luxury Shower Gel. :)
