NYX Girls Nail Polish - Shade Spot Light Review and Blingy French Nails NOTD

There are some cravings, that you can never ignore. Just like I was thirsting for a glitter polish for so long (within my budget) . And when I got my hands on the NYX Girls Nail Polish in Spot Light it was almost equivalent to winning a trophy :P (exaggarated). Anyhoo, today I am here with the review of the NYX Girls Nail Polish in Spot Light.

PRICE: Rs. 275.00 (Got it on a discount at Rs. 206.00 on StyleCraze)

QUANTITY: 12ml

INGREDIENTS:

MY EXPERIENCE: It comprises of holographic sparkles and larger holographic hexagonal glitter pieces on a clear base. I prefer to wear glitter polishes over a base polish or base coat. It stays put until you try to remove it off. But, if your base polish peels faster, then you can't blame this for that. Since it consists of chunky glitters, the surface feels uneven and hence it requires multiple layers of topcoat. So it takes longer to set and get dry.

I didn't face any problem with removal of the glitters with my Hiphop Skin Care Instant Nail Polish Remover Wipes, other than the fact that it took a little bit more time to get removed. I would suggest, not to layer the glitters more than 3 coats, else it might peel if it becomes too thick. However, I don't mind any of the setbacks, as NYX Girls Nail Polish in Spot Light is total AWESOMENESS in a bottle. :D

NOTD:

Check out another one here.

WHAT I LIKED:
  • Aptly named as spotlight. The chunky glitter particles reflects beautifully under different lights.
  • The holo glitter reflects rainbow colors when viewed from different angles and would go with any base color of your choice.
  • The glitter particles are evenly spread and each coat provides good amount of glitter.
  • I didn't face much problem with the removal of the glitters.
  • Affordable and economic since you get 12ml of the NP.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
  • Feels rough on the nails and requires multiples coats of topcoat.
  • The NP gets thick in the bottle mouth and I hope it doesn't dry up in the bottle any soon.

VERDICT:
If you love glitters NP, then you have to check out this one. Holographic glitters at such price are hardly ever available in India. I totally love this. :D

Guest Post: Pantene Pro-V Hair Fall Control Conditioner Review

Hi Beauties,
I am a lot into hair care products as I always want my hair to look good and manageable.

My Take on Pantene Pro-V Hair Fall Control Conditioner→

This conditioner is like the usual conditioners, creamy and neither too thick nor too runny in consistency. The cap of this product is bottom so it makes it easy for us to take out the product. The scent it mild and I am not bothered with it that much.
I just love this conditioner as it really fixed my split ends a bit and makes my hair so silky, soft, manageable and controls frizz a bit too .I have used it for a while now and I think it is a great conditioner and you must try it out at least. My Hair breakage has reduced at the same time too. The length and volume have really increased due to the less hair fall problem I am facing now :P ……..My hair has strengthen a lot too.
This conditioner has got no dye, no Parabens, but the only problem with it is that it irritates my face when I apply it but after I wash it the irritation goes away.

Pros of Pantene Pro-V Hair Fall Control Conditioner
Makes hair silky, soft .
Gives a shine to the hair.
Makes hair manageable to an extent.
My hair breakage has reduced too.
Product lives up to its claim
Decent packaging.
Repaired a bit of my split ends.
Affordable.

Cons of Pantene Pro-V Hair Fall Control Conditioner
Does not control oil on the scalp.
Irritates the face when it touches it, when applied.
Contains Dimethicone.
Effect does not last.

Final Verdict➜
Overall it is not a bad product and I quite like it. It is really affordable and it is definitely worth a try :)

Will I repurchase Pantene Pro-V Hair Fall Control Conditioner?
Maybe if I don’t find a better conditioner than this.

Guest Post: Clinic plus Strong & Long Health Shampoo and Clinic plus soft & Silky Cream conditioner Review

Hi there beauties,
I am Arpita and this is my first review here. Hope you will like it!
I was surprised to find no reviews on the Clinic plus Shampoo and the cream conditioner and so I thought of reviewing it...
I bought this shampoo two months ago and have been trying to figure out its effects. I got a conditioner free with it. So here is my experience with the shampoo and the conditioner---

Clinic plus Health Shampoo Review:

Price– Rs. 165/- for 400 ml

Ingredients– Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate,Dimethiconol And Tea-Dodecylbenzene Sulfonate,Cocamide Mea,Perfume,Carbomer,Mica And Titanium Dioxidwe,Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Disodium Distyrylbiphenyl Disulfonate,Lysine Hydrochloride, Hydrolysed Milk Protein ,Methylchloroisothiazolinone and Methylisothiazolinone,Sodium Chloride, Sodium hydroxide , Cl 42090.

Shelf Life– 2 years from Packaging date.

Product Claim– Clinic Plus strong & Long shampoo. Builds hair strength and hair becomes visibly longer with continued use. With Milk protein Lock, it strengthens and nourishes hair from within, so hair can keep growing longer.

Directions to apply-Apply directly to wet hair and work into creamy lather, Leave on for a minute. Rinse. For best results, use regularly.

My take on Clinic plus Shampoo––
This shampoo is popular in India and found anywhere and everywhere here. So after using many other shampoos like L’Oreal, Sunsilk, Dove, etc., I wanted to try this. I used a good amount of the shampoo and massaged it on my hair and scalp. The smell of the shampoo is quite a nice one and pleasant for me and I like it quite a lot. After leaving the shampoo on for a minute I rinsed it off and found my hair to be actually silky and manageable but as my hair dried my hair became frizzy but still silky. My hair did feel a bit better but with continued use I found that it does nothing for dandruff and my hair was growing a bit more than normal rate but not like it shows in the advertisement :P I found it does moisturize the hair and scalp but does nothing for split ends and for repairing the hair.

Pro's of Clinic plus health shampoo––
✔Quantity is great for the price.
✔Moisturizes hair and scalp.
✔Makes hair silky.
✔May help in growing the hair a bit.
✔Smell is nice.
✔Contains Hydrolyzed Milk Protein

Con's of Clinic plus health shampoo––
✘Doesn't repair the split ends and roughness.
✘Does nothing for Dandruff.
✘Doesn't control frizz.

Verdict––
It is a good shampoo to use if you don't have damaged hair but if you do have dandruff, frizz, split ends then this will not work for you.

Will I repurchase Clinic Plus Strong and Long Health shampoo?
No, because it doesn't repair my hair but will try out other hair products.

Rating- 2.75/5

Clinic plus Soft & Silky cream conditioner Review:

I got this conditioner free with the shampoo. I used both the shampoo and conditioner religiously for a month and here is what I have to say about the conditioner

Shelf Life- 36 months from Packaging date.

Product Claim– Using only shampoo (non-conditioning shampoo) is not enough. It leaves your hair looking dry, rough and lifeless. Introducing Clinic plus Soft & silky conditioner with milk protein lock and almond oil formula which provides deep nourishment to smoothen hair from root to tip (Based on Lab test vs non-conditioning shampoo) Now get Smooth silky hair that’s so soft to touch. Give your hair the 2 step shampoo plus cream conditioner solution to gt hair that’s also shining with a healthy glow.

Directions to apply- 1. Apply on entire length of hair after rinsing off shampoo.
2. Wash off after 1 minute, to get soft silky hair.

My take on Clinic plus Soft & Silky cream conditioner---

I used it after shampooing with clinic plus shampoo and rinsed after one minute.

Pro’s of Clinic plus Soft & Silky cream conditioner ––
✔ Smell’s nice.
✔ Made my hair silky and soft.
✔Almond oil Formula
✔ Contains milk protein.
✔ Imparts a shine to hair.

Con’s of Clinic Plus Soft & Silky cream conditioner ––
✘ Doesn’t control frizz.
✘ Contains Parabens.
✘ Does nothing to repair hair or for dandruff.

Verdict––
It is an okay type conditioner which doesn’t do miracles.

Will I repurchase Clinic Plus Soft & Silky cream conditioner?
No because it doesn’t do anything to repair hair and does nothing for dandruff.

NYX 78 colors Eyeshadow palette Review and some EOTDs

Hola ladies! I am back with a makeup product review, after eons it seems. Yes I know I am so late reviewing this palette. I was trying to  test it and put it to proper use and try out some looks. And now I am here with my review. I got this from b2nshop.com. (Read my experience here).

PRICE: $25.00

QUANTITY: 88.80 g. (Contains 6 large pots of daily eye shadow shades,68 shades of small eye shadows, 4 face powders, 8 applicator sponges, 1 mirror.)

INGREDIENTS:

EOTDs (Random and crazy :P ) :

*The first three were taken after few hours of application.

MY EXPERIENCE:

NYX has become a favourite brand among many beauty blogger since we get so many options at such affordable prices (though not so affordable in India :P). I was so excited when I got this palette, as it had almost all the imaginable colors and all of them are pretty much wearable. Now the shades are a mix of pearly, matte and shimmery finish. Pigmentation is good for darker colors while the lighter shades needs more than 2 swipes for the color to show up.

Also, the lighter shades tends to fade away slightly under humid conditions after few hours.Otherwise they do last long on the lids, though my lids remain pretty much dry unless it is too humid. I wish there were some brighter matte shades of yellow, blue and green. All I could see in there are pinks, purples, oranges, browns and black. :P Comparing the prices with other eyeshadow palattes, this is definitely pricier, but I heard the quality is much better than those palettes from other beauty bloggers. It gets removed easily with water, though that might be a con in the monsoons!

WHAT I LIKED:
  • 78 lovely colors in one palette.
  • Mix of shimmery, pearly and matte shades.
  • Almost all the shades are wearable.
  • Pigmentation and quality are decent being a palette.
  • It comes with a huge mirror, and the packaging is compact and would be travel friendly.
  • No powdery or gritty feel with any of the shades.
  • The package arrived safely without any broken shadows. I ordered it from b2nshop.com.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
  • I wish there were more variants of yellows, blues and greens. Then I would have called it a complete palette.
  • Shades from the same color family (esp. in the pink and orange range) are not distinguishable when blended on eyes.
  • It isn't water resistant.
  • The lighter shades tends to fade away in humid conditions.

VERDICT: All in all I loved this palette. Though I wish there were a bit more variety in colors instead of so many orange shades :P.

Black Elegant Letters Printing Zipped Handbag from Oasap

Hey girlies! Have you entered yet in the super giveaway of 152 pieces of silk dresses and blouses from Oasap? There will be 1 winner from every 100 entries. Click here to know the details.
Today I am going to show you another product that I got recently from Oasap.com.

I recently ordered for this Black handbag from Oasap.

Price: $37.00

Description:
The handbag crafted in PU, featuring letters printing, simple design, top zipped closure and two straps fastening to the front with metal buckle.

Size:
Length: 30cm
Height: 19cm
Width: 12cm

This time my order got processed in two days, much faster than last time. I received it today afternoon, i.e. in two weeks time *yay* :D

Only thing I was a little miffed about, that the picture on the site and the actual product I received differs on the finish. It shows a matte finish on the site which looks really elegant, but me not liking the shiny finish of the bag I received *boohoo*, and it doesn't retain its shape, though it might be because of the fact that it was needed to be fold, while shipping it out!

I loved the cute pearl accessory though. The bag is medium sized but spacious and strong enough to hold all the necessary items.

The huge inventory of Oasap.com is to die for. Hopefully, my next purchase would be better! :D

**Received discount credits on the purchase but it doesn't influence my honest opinion! Read my disclaimer.

Parachute Advansed Summer Fresh Body Lotion Review

Hey ya ladies (and 'gentle'men too if you are reading this ;) )! I am popping in again! :P As you might already know, that I have dry-combination, sensitive skin and it just can't tolerate any heavy creams/lotions (forget about layering SPF creams and all :( ), even on a slight humid day. So you can relate, that moisturisers and my skin become sworn enemies during this hot, humid season. But I can't totally skip nourishing my skin, else it would turn scaly/flaky/lifeless. Now that the monsoon has arrived, I need a light moisturiser that beats the humidity and helps my skin not to turn patchy.

Parachute Advansed Summer Fresh Body Lotion came in the right time, as it is just appropriate for the hot summer and humid monsoon time. Why so? Read on!

PRICE: Rs. 125

QUANTITY: 250 ml (Available in smaller sizes too, 20ml* for Rs. 5 (*Introductory offer) and 100 ml for Rs. 65 )

INGREDIENTS:

MY EXPERIENCE: The Summer fresh lotion comes in the similar curvy bottle as the previous Parachute Advansed Body Lotion. The consistency and moisturising property of the Summer Fresh variant lies in between the Gentle Care and the Intense Care variants. But I would prefer this one over the other two because of a number of reasons.

First, it keeps my skin moisturised throughout the day without any re-application, and doesn't give any sticky or sweaty feeling, unlike other lotions. Second, the mint+coconut smell is so refreshing and it is retained by the skin for quite some time. The mint extracts leaves a slight cool feeling on skin, (can be felt more on face than other body parts). Third, the price is so affordable and so economical for the quantity! And even when I tried it a few times on face, it didn't break me out in this humid weather *yay* :D.

WHAT I LIKED:
  • True to it's name it keeps the skin fresh and moisturised throughout the whole day!
  • The light texture helps it to get quickly absorbed by skin.
  • Never irritates, or feels sticky / sweaty! Rather provides a nice, cool feeling because of the mint extracts!
  • Amazing sweet refreshing smell, which I absolutely love.
  • Comes in an effective packaging with a flip top cap.
  • Price is so economical.
  • Has SPF (but how much is it? Not mentioned!)
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
  • This is not a con for me. But I think extremely dry, flaky skin might require heavier moisturisation than this one provides!
  • As the name suggest it is meant for summer or hot, humid weather. There are other variants supposed to be used in winters!
VERDICT: If you run away from body lotions due to humidity in this summer, then this Parachute Advansed Summer Fresh Body Lotion could be your answer. It is light and perfect for the humid weather and so easy on the pocket that you won't mind trying it out once.

RATINGS: 4.5 out of 5

Iraya Coconut Soap Review

Soap or a moisturiser? That's what popped in my mind when I got to try the Iraya Coconut Soap. If you haven't heard of the brand, then let me introduce it to you first!

Iraya the true secret of beauty lies in energizing the soul. Iraya in Sanskrit means from the earth was born out of Ayurveda. The essence of Ayurveda is rejuvenation. It is a holistic healing system which provides health & vitality. Iraya belive that path to beauty lies in energizing the soul. It is this philosophy that finds its way in every Iraya product.

Iraya soaps are natural and handcrafted. Plus they don't do animal testing! Today I would be reviewing the Coconut Soap from the Iraya range.

PRICE: Rs.175

QUANTITY: 100g

INGREDIENTS:

WHAT IT CLAIMS: "A gentle soap bar, made with nourishing coconut oil, rice bran oil and skin-softening coconut butter.Moisturises the skin leaving the wonderful tropical aroma of fresh coconuts."

MY EXPERIENCE: When I first tried it out, it seemed as a normal glycerine soap with stripes of semi-solid coconut/palm oil bits across it. It has got a delicous smell of coconut butter with an underlying hint of lemon(tangy) fragrance (I don't know where it comes from since lemon or anything citrusy is not mentioned in the ingredients...might be the palm oil then?!).The smell is quite relaxing and leaves a subtle scent on the skin too, though it doesn't stay for too long. Now comes the interesting part. It doesn't leave my skin dry or stretchy, rather it have a moisturising effect and I can happily leave out the moisturiser in the summer. And it lathers well too, being a moisturising soap, and gives a cleansed feeling on skin. Only that it melts easily, as is the case with most of the handmade soaps.

WHAT I LIKED:
  • Smells deliciously of coconut butter but it's not OTT. If you don't like coconut then this is not for you.
  • Lathers decently and cleanses skin properly.
  • It never dried out my skin. Rather my skin feels moisturised and I can skip the body lotions. Best for summers! However, I won't suggest to skip the lotion in winters!
  • Leaves a hint of scent on the skin.
  • Does as per it's claims.
  • Handmade from natural ingredients and doesn't test on animals!
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
  • Pricey, but then it is a spa product.
  • Melts easily, hence finishes up quickly!
  • Available only through Iraya stores and online.

VERDICT: I loved how it worked on my skin. If you have dry skin like me, then you should give this a try.

Garnier Pure Active Blackheads Uprooting Scrub Review

Hey ya ladies! As we all know, apart from the Cleansing-Toning-Moisturising our skin, Scrubbing/Exfoliating frequently is also important to remove dead cells and rejuvenate skin. But, how frequent should we scrub/exfoliate our skin? Generally, it is recommended to go for exfoliation two-three times per week. Also based on skin types, oily skin needs more exfoliation than dry skin. However, frequent exfoliation can lead up to dryness of skin, and make skin rough (I had some experience of that :( ) and it is utmost necessary to moisturise properly after exfoliation. Few things to keep in mind, exfoliation shouldn't be done with a heavy hand or a lot of pressure that your skin gets irritated/reddened and it shouldn't be too light either that it doesn't work effectively at all. Since facial skin is more delicate, we should take care what kind of scrub we use on it.

Today, I am going to review the Blackheads Uprooting Scrub from Garnier Pure Active range.

PRICE: Rs.79

QUANTITY: 50g

INGREDIENTS:

WHAT IT CLAIMS: " Garnier PureActive is a new generation of concentrated formulae tested on acne-prone skin.
Is PureActive Blackheads Uprooting scrub made for me?

Yes, if your skin is prone to blackheads and you wish to remove them while cleansing to prevent the re-appearance and clear imperfection marks.
It’s secret?
An unprecedented association in the formula which fights imperfections and their marks.
Concentrated Salicylic acid is one of the most efficient exfoliant actives.
The proven power of plants - HerbaRepair is a natural active extracted from Vaccinium myrtillus with exceptional regenerating and skin-repairing properties.*
*tested in vitro "

MY EXPERIENCE: Firstly, I must let you know that I don't have much blackheads problem. Rather, I have whiteheads problem. Garnier Pure Active Blackheads Uprooting Scrub comes in tube packaging. The scrub itself is thick gel like in texture, with blue granules/scrub particles, which aren't harsh on skin at all. It creates a creamy foam when rubbed on skin. After washing it off, it leaves a tingling, cool feeling on the skin because of the mint extracts, which I really love.

Apart from this, it does nothing. No apparent uprooting of whiteheads, neither any spot lightening is observed. Had it lathered like a facewash, I would have still given it more points. But it doesn't, and I don't see any further use out of it.
WHAT I LIKED:
  • Comes in a tube packaging.
  • The scrub particles are really gentle on skin.
  • Leaves a minty cool sensation on skin, which I love, esp. during this hot weather.
  • Didn't irritate my sensitive skin.
  • Only a little amount is required in every use. So one tube would last a while.
  • Price is pocket friendly.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
  • Doesn't uproot any whiteheads/blackheads on my skin.
  • Didn't help in spot lightening as per the claims.
  • I would have liked it more, if it lathered like a facewash and be a 2-in-1 product.
VERDICT:
If you leave out the product claims, then this is a nice gentle scrub for all skin types (even sensitive skin). And if you like minty fragrance then you are sure going to love it. Else, this is not the product for you!
